GARAGAR® is an original, tasty hot drink for a full dose of caffeine-free energy.
Barley is a cereal with a high nutritional value, rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. It is organically grown in the Basque Country.
In our Itxassou workshop, the grains are cleaned, sorted and graded. They are then roasted using traditional methods to bring out all the cereal's aromas.
GARAGAR® can be enjoyed at any time of day, and will delight both adults and children.

Taste
GARAGAR® has a unique taste that evokes the flavours of childhood. During roasting, all the cereal's aromas develop with notes of hazelnut, biscuit, caramel and toast.
Preparation
In a filter coffee maker, fill up the filter, using 5gr per cup.
In an Italian press, fill the receptacle halfway without tamping.
In a French press coffee maker, allow 5g per cup, pour in boiling water, stir and pour.
Garagar Torréfaction was born of a desire to offer an alternative to coffee that was rich in taste and produced locally. Trained by Vincent Ballot, the first roaster to be awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and by Italian houses, I discovered the art of roasting with people who were passionate about their craft. In choosing to roast barley, I'm reconnecting with my Italian heritage, a country where the tradition of caffè d'orzo is still quite popular. In 2022, I moved to the Basque Country to set up my own roasting business using traditional methods. By bringing barley coffee back into fashion, I hope to enable consumers to rediscover a beverage that is good for health and for the planet, and that can be enjoyed at any time of day, by adults and children alike !
